A Push In The Right Direction

Many of us stay stuck in the same position, or place rather, in our lives where nothing seems to improve and it seems like all doors have been slammed against our faces. Do we take the opportunity to analyse the situation or moment in time that we find ourselves in when our lives hit a stand still, and look for possible solutions or ways to get out of that situation and grow? Or do we just sit back and wait for a miracle to happen?

Like many, some of us are stuck in jobs that we do not want to be in because we cannot find "proper" jobs. Our financial situations seem to be strained because we do not earn enough, or we have certain financial responsibilities to take care of so much that we cannot give ourselves a treat for working hard at the end of every month. There are things we want (i.e. those parts of our homes that we want to fix (renovate), getting our first apartments or buying ourselves brand new cars), or simply take our families out for a simple lunch/dinner, but we cannot do that simply because we are stuck in the same old position that does not allow us to expand past our financial situations.

You know at times, people stay in the jobs that they have because they cannot afford to be jobless and have no salary/stipend at the end of the month (the cost of living is too high). We allow our bosses/managers to mistreat us, and treat us like they can just replace us with just a snap of a finger regardless of the hard work and effort that we put in, and ignore our presence. Instead, they use us to keep their companies running while we fall short on working towards the best that we can possibly be. They take away our passion, drive, enthusiasm and so much more without showing any concern (as long as their work is done). That drains employees. In times like those, one needs to P.U.S.H (Pray Until Something Happens). One needs to sit back and analyse the type of situation that they are stuck in. Sometimes, those situations are eye-openers; they allow an individual to realise their worth and true potential, they allow an individual to think outside the box and become creative about starting their own business venture for example; in which they will ensure good working relationships with their subordinates, and build and maintain healthy relationships with their employees while empowering them.

Sometimes, all we need is a push in the right direction. That moment when you feel like you are no longer happy in a certain job, relationship, or environment, and it feels like you are wasting your time because you know what you are capable of doing, and the potential that you have in growing is granted an opportunity to do so, that is the moment where you just have to walk away to listen to that still quiet voice in your head. You start to outsource yourself for better opportunities that can pick you up from where you are, to where you want to be. You elevate yourself to the person you want to be in order to reign supreme and become an expert in certain fields. You get to see opportunities in the market that you cannot see while you are stuck where you are. It makes no sense staying in a place where there seems to be constant setbacks and standstills, if you have to leave to break free from bondages that are holding you down, do so. Even if you know that you won't have any food to eat the next day, walk away (if it means securing your health and happiness). Stress is no good on anyone, it causes mental, physical and emotional disorientations, I bet nobody wants to find themselves being diagnosed with some sort of stressful condition right?

The Bible says you should not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself (Matthew 6:34. You can read Matthew 6:25-34 in order to get a better understanding of the scripture). Have faith and trust in the Lord at all times. Something good will come out of all the hard work and effort you put in day in, day out. Just trust the process, even if it is slow.
When you P.U.S.H. you need to do it the right way though, imagine a pregnant woman who is in labour, ready to give birth, and when it is time to push the baby out of her womb, she does not do it the right way. Obviously, the baby will not come out- Example taken from Ps. At Boshoff in one of his sermons.

You need to P.U.S.H in spirit and in truth, by believing that your prayers will be answered, and by pushing hard enough to allow the baby to be born. That business, career path, car, house etc. is all yours. Just P.U.S.H until you bring your baby to life, until something happens. And trust me, you will see that God does indeed hear your prayers, and He does answer.

  1. I legit relate to the article because I feel like I'm also at a place in my life where I'm not meant to be, yet I feel like there's got to be more to my existence then what I endure on a daily basis. Trusting the process like you say we should gets harder each day even though the faith is still strong. The thing about trusting the process is that we been stuck in this place for so long and we wonder if it's ever gonna happen. I like the example that you make about the pregnant woman in labor. It is a very deep illustration of the truth if you think about it. All that is required from her is to PUSH harder and then the excruciating labor pains are replaced with joy of the new blessing in her life in a form of a baby boy or girl. Damn that life is something else.

This article just helped e realize that it can happen for everybody if it's meant for you. There are more than 7 billion people in the world and for that number to be possible the people who were meant to do it PUSHED harder.

    1. There is still hope for you, and because I personally know you and know the efforts and hard work that you put in to get what you want, I believe nothing will stop you from getting to where you want to be. Just continue on pushing, and try new angles at going about it. You will eventually find a solution that works. Also, setting standards also gets people stuck in certain positions, lowering them elevates people. Once you have elevated, you can start setting standards.

  2. Well said. I believe that we are mentally enslaved, we believe that as long as we have a job we have made it, we believe that an office job is the way to go because it makes us feel important. We are so proud that we are not willing to do things like selling cupcakes and saving the money to start our own business. We are brainwashed to believe that if it is not an office job then we are not yet there. The main thing that's holding us back is fear, people are so scared to step out of their comfort zone, but if you don't take risks then you gonna be stuck with that job. What we need to do is put pride aside and let go of fear. And we need to remember that no one has an "easy success" story.

    1. You should become a motivational speak, and I've once told you this. But what you are saying is utterly true, and I have to agree with you. Occupational slavery makes people think that they have it all, and as long as they can put bread on the table, not being aware that there is more to life than just a loaf of bread. People want to have large feasts but do not want to work hard to get them. Fear or losing it all while taking a risk is what actually keeps us enslaved, and that is so wrong. Life is all about taking risks if you want to leave a legacy behind for your kids, and grandkids. I like what you said up here, thank you!
